What is the best neighbourhood for travellers in Prague?

Is it worth staying in the centre?

If it is your first time in Prague and you are here for 2--3 days, yes. Having everything on your doorstep makes up for the extra cost. How do I get from any neighbourhood to the free tour meeting point?

All our tours depart from central, easily accessible locations on public transport. The Old Town tour (10:00 and 14:00) and the New Town tour (11:00) leave from the ZARA on Na Příkopě. Is September a good time to find cheap hotels?

Is it safe to stay in Žižkov or other areas outside the centre?

Absolutely. There are no unsafe neighbourhoods in Prague for travellers. Žižkov has a reputation for being "alternative" but not dangerous.
