Day Trip to Terezín Concentration Camp

Terezín is the main memorial in the Czech Republic honouring the victims of Nazism. It is not an easy visit, but it is a necessary one to understand what happened in this country during the Second World War. Going on your own is possible, but without historical context you walk through a fortress without knowing what happened in each corner.

You will visit the cemetery complex, the ghetto museum (names, documented facts and testimonies), the national cemetery and the concentration camp, following the same route the prisoners took: from the administrative courtyard, past the "Arbeit macht frei" gate, through the prisoner zone, the fortress casemates and the shooting range.

By around 15:00 you will be back in Prague with the afternoon free. Next to the meeting point you will find the Museum of Communism, a worthwhile visit if you want to explore further the history you will see during the excursion.
