Day Trip to Karlovy Vary

Karlovy Vary is the spa jewel of Western Bohemia: a day trip from Prague to enjoy fairytale landscapes, elegant colonnades, thermal history, local products, and the atmosphere of its famous International Film Festival, with a guided tour and free time included.

On our excursion to the spa town of Karlovy Vary, visiting this jewel of Western Bohemia, we will experience profound inner peace and tranquility. During the guided tour of Karlovy Vary, we will step into a fairytale setting, admiring the spectacular scenery and feeling like we are part of the cast of the prestigious Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, held annually in this charming town.

SYSTEM ITINERARY The Karlovy Vary excursion begins at the meeting point in Prague at 9:00 AM. The journey to Karlovy Vary takes approximately two hours.

Upon arrival in Karlovy Vary, we will discover its location nestled in a valley surrounded by forests. We will then proceed to our designated parking area. Once the vehicle is parked, we will continue to Spa Resort (Lázně) No. 1, where the guided tour will begin, explaining the history of this historic town. We will visit buildings such as the Grand Hotel Pupp, and various colonnades, including the Market Colonnade, the Geyser Colonnade, the neo-Renaissance Mill Colonnade, the Liberty Colonnade, and finally the neo-Baroque Park Colonnade. These colonnades cover the fountains and springs of Karlovy Vary. Each colonnade is constructed of a different material and features a different architectural style.

We will pass by the five spa pavilions, whose mineral/thermal waters were renowned for their healing properties. We will also have the opportunity to see and sample local products such as Becherovka liqueur, wafers, and admire the famous Bohemian crystal. The Moser brand, known as "the crystal of kings," is manufactured in the spa town of Karlovy Vary.

After the tour, the guide will recommend a place to eat. You will have free time, arranged in advance with the guide, and then we will return to the meeting point in Prague (approximately 2 hours).
